Jaipuria Institute of Management Ghaziabad organized a visit to National Science Centre, Delhi on the occasion of National Science Day on 28th February 2023. The MBA students of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad visited the Centre to commemorate the discovery of Raman Effect by Nobel laureate, physicist CV Raman on this day in 1928.
National Science Centre, Delhi is one of the largest Science Centres in Asia and is popularly known amongst its visitors as, “A Dream Castle for One and All”. The students began the visit with a very knowledgeable and interactive ‘Science-Show’, where many daily-life activities based on scientific laws were elaborated to the students. They were also shown certain magical tricks which were demonstrated using scientific laws.
Following the session, the students were escorted to view the progression of the Energy Ball and were also given an opportunity to see Science On Sphere (SOS), which is a room-sized global display system that uses computers and video projectors to display planetary data onto a six-foot diameter sphere.
Apart from these two main shows, the students visited various galleries, such as the Heritage Gallery, which contained exhibits about India’s profound contribution to Astronomy, Mathematics, Chemistry, Medicine, Metallurgy, Art, Craft, and Architecture. They also came across the gallery called Human Biology-The Miracle of Human Life, which showed the human body in all its aspects, namely, anatomical, physiological, biochemical, structural, systemic, and functioning.
The visit also included the gallery showcasing Pre-historic life, where the students saw models of extinct species like dinosaurs and the wooly mammoth. The most enjoyable part of the visit was the Fun with Science gallery where the students spent time playing various science-related games and walking through the hall of mirrors.
Overall, the visit to the National Science Centre was very informative and enjoyable for the students. The theme for the “National Science Day 2023” was “Global Science for Global Wellbeing,” indicating India’s emerging global role and rising visibility in the international arena. This visit provided the students with an opportunity to enhance their scientific knowledge and gain practical insights into various scientific concepts.
