Objectives of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)
- To systematically foster the culture of Innovation in the institution
- To encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes
- To provide mentorship and develop entrepreneurial skills among students
- To provide infrastructure support for early-stage enterprise development
- To develop and implement Innovation & Entrepreneurship strategy and policy for the entire institute in order to integrate the entrepreneurial activities
- To ensure exposure of maximum students to innovation and pre incubation activities at their early stage
- To enhance in-house competency development to serve potential and early-stage entrepreneurs and student innovators at the institute.
- To strengthen the inter-departmental and inter-institutional linkage, incubators and other ecosystem enablers at different levels.
Functions of IIC:
- Conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bound fashion
- Identify and reward innovations and share success stories
- Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators
- Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations
- Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students
- Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries

Shyama Jha With 24+ years of experience in corporates -From telecom to Insurance, Jewellery and Retail, I had my last corporate experience with Nexus Groups of Malls (Blackstone Group) where headed Marketing for Esplanade Mall Bhubaneswar. Currently building my own food brand Wow Mom Foods and handicraft brand Hastrang having our corporate office at Noida. With my Foundation I am creating robust & resilient value chain at grass root level by establishing food processing plants near the farm land where family of farmers work towards building world class brands. Besides, developing FPC (Farmer Producer Companies) to organise the much unorganized farming sector. With the determination to create a retail like revolution in farming & food processing at farm level I am in the process to replicate my value chain structure in different states. Within a year was able to bag more than 15 awards nationally and huge recognition at state and national level. With the determination to create the brand of global level which is originating from interiors, my strong perseverance has created a mark of our work and we are steadily moving ahead with more than 1000 beneficiaries and bringing smiles on 3000+ faces across 17 villages. Dr. Kamalika Banerjee
Developed a biotech-based waste remedial process for Ayurvedic clinics
Dr. Kamalika Banerjee is a dreamer & doer, who has a fierce ability to combine her research analytical acumen with creative artistic aptitude, and she utilizes these two opposing forces to generate new ideas, thought processes and innovative products. From a very young age, she dreamt of creating profound impact through her ideas, innovations and work, and so has been her pursuit ever since. Some of her innovations include- Pioneered the concept of ‘Scientific Wisdom’, a pedagogy that connects Science and Consciousness, and amalgamates scientific thought with inner inspiration, character-building and behavioral life skills. Developed a distinctive product to address child sexual abuse. Developed a biotech-based waste remedial process for Ayurvedic clinics (in collaboration with NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore). Developed potential novel drugs against pathogenic viruses, involving her expertise in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, and high-end microscopic techniques (as part of her Ph.D. research work at IIT Delhi).
