On June 8, 2024, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, hosted an impactful Youth Parliament event. The theme for this year’s Youth Parliament was "Equal Representation, Stronger Nation – Advocating for the Women Reservation Bill." This event provided an excellent opportunity for students to develop their leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, while also encouraging critical thinking and analytical abilities.
Event Overview
The Youth Parliament aimed to enhance students' ability to communicate effectively and negotiate mindfully. It offered a platform for participants to delve into the intricacies of policymaking and governance, providing valuable insights into how policies are formulated, debated, and implemented. Organized by faculty coordinators Ms. Abhilasha and Dr. Devi Archana, under the guidance of the Director, Prof. (Dr.) Daviender Narang, the event was meticulously planned and executed. Senior students, including Mr. Bismay Dutta, Ms. Anindita Dandapat, and Mr. Utkarsh, mentored and guided the participants.
Developing Skills
Participants in the Youth Parliament engaged in rigorous debates and discussions, assessing complex issues and evaluating different perspectives. The event was instrumental in helping students become more confident and articulate communicators, enhancing their management and life skills. It also exposed them to the practicalities of governance and policymaking, fostering a deeper understanding of these critical processes.
Awards and Recognition
The valedictory ceremony recognized the outstanding contributions of participants with awards for Best Speaker. Mr. Nitish Prakash and Mr. Abhishek were both awarded the Best Speaker title for their exceptional performances. The event judges, Mr. Rahul Chakraverti (Media Veteran), Mr. Yash Sharma (Manager, HR, J-Pal), and Ms. Anindita (Finance Analyst, Ameriprise), praised the participants for their impressive skills and dedication.
The Youth Parliament at Jaipuria Institute of Management was a memorable and enriching experience for all involved. The organizers extended their sincere gratitude to all participants and alumni mentors, whose contributions were instrumental in making the event a success. Special thanks were also due to the admin department for providing the venue and logistical support.
