SERVICE AND SIGNIFICANCE

‘Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth’
Muhammad Ali
Nothing is permanent in life and almost everything fades with time, however, one thing which remains with us is ‘service and significance'. Name, fame, beauty, and money may not last forever however, the service we provide to our society lasts forever and ever. Martin Luther King once said that not every person can be famous however every person can be great because greatness comes with service and its significance. We should not focus only on our personal goals to earn more and more rather it's a high time to shed the materialistic thinking and pay more attention to serve the society.
We need to dive deep to explore more and give the answers to the questions “Who we are?” and ‘What do we have to give back to society?’.  It's not a simple question of ‘who we are?' describing daily roles and responsibilities as performed by us as spouse, daughter, son, brother, sister etc. rather It's a bigger question of ‘who we are?' focusing on the real purpose of our existence. We as a person are representatives of God to enlighten at least one life by our existence, and karma. If we only enlighten one life and make its existence in the world, we hopefully will be able to serve our purpose of life.  One gets to know how much he or she can do by listening to his/ her inner self.  While doing good to others, we get signals from the Almighty that we are on the right track and eventually good comes to us in an unpredictable way as God feels proud of his own creations that is ‘us’. One of the most essential things for our own joy and happiness is the act of giving happiness, kindness, courage and care to others, the more we give to others, the more we receive from the world. Your momentary happiness may come from materialistic things however the real happiness will ultimately come from having an altruistic attitude and giving to others.
Keeping in mind the same objective, Jaipuria institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad is dedicated to serve the society and pays closer attention to take care of the people who needs support and assistance. Students and faculty members take active participation in organizing various events focusing on social responsibility such as Blood donation camp, Food distribution camp & Cloth distribution camp to name a few on a regular basis. Service orientation is imbibed amongst students and can be seen in initiatives taken by the JIM students with their mentors such as Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Zero food wastage, Joy of giving and many more. They are truly immersed in serving the society and getting pleasure by helping others.

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the services of others
