Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram celebrated the ‘National Pollution Control Day’ with a pledge on 02 December 2022. This day is observed to instill awareness among people about environmental pollution and its disastrous consequences. It commemorates those who lost their lives in the 1984 Bhopal Gas tragedy on December 2nd and 3rd. The effects of that disaster are felt even now after more than 35 years. The key objective of the pledge was to educate students about the consequences of industrial disasters. The day also aims to bring awareness to students about prevention of air, soil, noise, and water pollution. The event was organized by IIC members for all students under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Daviender Narang, Director of JIM and Dr. Ashwani Varshney, Dean Student Welfare and President IIC-JIM. All the students and faculty members participated with full energy in this program. The pledge to collectively work towards a pollution free, better world, a greener earth, carbon-free society and sustainable future was taken by the students. After the pledge, the students were also encouraged to plant more and more trees to make our mother earth greener and the necessary steps to be taken at individual level so that we can make our environment healthy. There were more than two hundred students who took pledge. The pledge-event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Ajay Tripathi, Dr. Raj Kumari, Dr. Devi Archana Mohanty and Ms. Surbhi Kansal.
