The Ted Talk session held by Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad on 14 September 2019 was truly inspiring and motivating. The Ted Talk was a video of Ms. Surabhi Gupta. SURBHI is a very talented girl born in a very a small town in a Brahmin family, nobody at that time knew that she will inspire a lot in her lifetime. Although there are many ways of inspirations in everybody’s life but when it comes to influencing an individual from another person’s experience who shares his/her journey of life full of achievements that it becomes an inspiration for him too.
A similar thing happened with me when I saw a Ted Talk video of a woman who belonged to a small village in her early years. She shared stories of her old days when she studied in a dark room with a small lantern. She also shared that she cleared class 10 by scoring 100 marks in mathematics and physics, and as a result, she took science stream in class 11 and in class 12 she also cleared it by scoring the highest percentage in school. She got famous through coverage in the daily newspaper because of which she became an inspiration of every person in her locality. She said that no matter how much difficult a particular task is, just face it and complete it, no matter what may be the outcome.
After that she went for higher education which was taught in English language. She also shared that she cleared her elementary studies from a Hindi medium school. So, coming from Hindi medium background and studying in English medium for higher studies was a challenge for her. When she cleared the entrance exam of the college and got an offer letter, a smile came on her face and then all the people living in her locality came to meet her parents, showered her with gifts and blessings.
She shared her journey of getting selected in a reputed company and her decision of going for civil examination which is said to be the toughest exam. Nevertheless, she cleared it.
According to me, all the above lines are inspiration for me, and one thing is common in all of them, that is, don’t give up in life. She has become an inspiration for all the students and many people who were watching this Ted Talk as this video stated all the small points of life that inspires every person.
