The second day of our Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Qualitative and Mixed Method Research, held on August 19, 2023, brought further insights and exploration into the realm of qualitative research methodologies.
Dr. Rahul Pratap Singh Kaurav, from FORE School of Management, took the lead on this day, guiding participants through advanced research techniques using NVIVO software. The day started with a comprehensive overview of NVIVO, touching on coding techniques and thematic analysis.
The mid-morning session delved into the practicalities of creating projects in NVIVO and importing data from various sources. Dr. Kaurav showcased visualization techniques like word clouds, tree maps, and cluster analysis, providing participants with hands-on experience in data representation.
Following a satisfying lunch break, the program navigated towards sentimental analysis and social media analysis, demonstrating how these tools can unravel hidden insights within qualitative data. Dr. Kaurav also showcased how to work with images, audio, and video data, expanding the horizons of qualitative research.
The final session of the day explored mixed method research using NVIVO and provided invaluable guidance on writing qualitative papers for Scopus and ABDC indexed journals. Participants were armed with practical tips and strategies to communicate their research effectively.
As the program came to a close, certificates were distributed to recognize the commitment and passion of each participant in enhancing their qualitative research skills. A group picture captured the camaraderie of the attendees, the resource persons, and the organizers.
The two-day journey was a testament to the institute’s commitment to fostering research excellence and providing a platform for meaningful learning and growth. The FDP on Qualitative and Mixed Method Research was a resounding success, enriching participants’ research acumen and equipping them with valuable tools for their academic and professional journeys.
