The rapid spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has deeply impacted the psychology of people, generating fear, anxiety and depression. We have learnt the hard way that the virus is more macrobe than microbe. There is, therefore, an urgent need to understand the real nature of the mind to be able to get rid of these tendencies. Experts have claimed the anxiety experienced by us is not because of the external factors but due to our inability to control the incessant flow of our mind. When we will closely examine our mind, then we will know that it’s just the bundle of thoughts that keep flowing on a constant basis. We often find it extremely difficult to disengage ourselves from the torrential flow of thoughts; as a consequence, we begin to suffer from insomnia and anxiety.
This pandemic has been unprecedented; not only in how often the word ‘unprecedented’ has been used, but in the challenges, change and uncertainty it has thrown at us. There was a ray of hope when I decided to break free from the chains of the incessant flow of anxiety and depression that was brought upon me at the time of Covid-19. I made up my mind that I would pursue an MBA from Jaipuria Institute of Management. I was really curious to know how would I manage everything at the time of Covid-19 but this college has really helped me to believe in myself and foster self-growth. I am pursuing MBA in Business Analytics, this was a challenge for me as I never was an avid performer in this field, but somehow, I managed to develop interest in this field. During this journey of ups and downs I would like to thank all the teachers and the staff of Jaipuria that have helped me to grow as a person inside out.
We all know that second wave of covid-19 has been proven fatal for the entire nation. Once again unprecedented casualties have been reported nationwide. People have faced a set of workplace and personal factors that are entirely uncharted. Zoom meetings have become the new norm.
We have shared our home life and the emotional ups and downs of lockdown with our colleagues and friends and many of us have become overnight home school educators. The phrase ‘juggling personal and work life’ has taken on a whole new meaning.
Through all of this we have become accustomed to working together under a new normal – one that includes the full array of human imperfection. During this time too, our teachers have worked selflessly for the betterment of all the students. We need to become optimistic at this perilous time and give our best to fight back against all the odds. I just want to say -While it’s difficult to be entirely optimistic, we must believe, “this too shall pass”.
