Stepping into the realm of innovation and entrepreneurship, we embarked on an unforgettable journey to the National Technology Week exhibition at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. On May 14, 2023, a team of enthusiastic students from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, had the privilege of being part of this remarkable event. This immersive experience allowed us to witness groundbreaking advancements and connect with visionary start-up founders, leaving us inspired and in awe of the potential that lies within the world of technology.
A Showcase of Technological Marvels: The National Technology Week exhibition was a grand spectacle, orchestrated by the collective involvement of 11 government agencies and ministries. With over 500 technology start-ups and innovations on display, the event truly exemplified the nation’s progress in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. We were honored to be part of an exhibition that had been inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India on May 11, 2023.
Celebrating National Technology Day: May 11 holds a special significance for the entire nation as the Government of India declared it National Technology Day back in 1999. This year, the exhibition embraced the theme of “School to Startups – Igniting Young Minds,” emphasizing the importance of fostering innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among students. It was a proud moment for us to witness India’s commitment to nurturing young talent in the field of technology.
Exploring the Innovation Pavilion: One of the highlights of the exhibition was the innovation pavilion set up by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Located on the first floor of the exhibition hall, this pavilion showcased the government’s policies and initiatives in promoting innovation and start-ups. With tracks such as IP Clinic, mentoring rounds, investors’ pitch, and a digital pavilion, it provided a comprehensive platform for budding entrepreneurs to learn, connect, and grow.
Experiential Learning and Inspiring Interactions: Our visit to the exhibition went beyond mere observation; it was an immersive experience filled with opportunities for experiential learning. We explored the IDEA lab, where we witnessed firsthand the power of innovative ideas and their transformation into tangible products. Expert-led knowledge sharing sessions enlightened us about emerging trends and possibilities in the tech industry. Engaging activities like crossword puzzle rounds and innovation/startup storytelling sessions further fueled our curiosity and passion for entrepreneurship.
Meeting the Visionaries: AICTE organized an incredible opportunity for us to interact with three founders from successful deep tech start-ups. Their stories, insights, and experiences left an indelible mark on us. We were motivated to pursue our own entrepreneurial dreams and contribute to the ever-evolving landscape of technology.
Gratitude and Moving Forward: We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professor (Dr) Daviender Narang, the Director of our institute, for his unwavering support and encouragement in making this visit possible. Such initiatives create an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, and we are fortunate to have mentors who believe in unleashing our potential.
Our visit to the National Technology Week exhibition was an eye-opening experience that showcased the power of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. It reinforced our belief in the limitless possibilities that lie ahead and the role we can play in shaping the future. As we reflect on our time at the exhibition, we are filled with inspiration and determination to make our mark in this ever-evolving landscape of technological advancements. We are grateful for this transformative experience, and we look forward to embracing the journey of innovation and entrepreneurship with open hearts and curious minds.
