The whole world has become digital now, all the operations have become virtual, starting from recruitment to on boarding, the whole industry has revamped itself. Witnessing the current scenario, it is the onus of Best Management Institutes to prepare the students for this unprecedented time.

We at Jaipuria Institute of Management consider the fact that student fitment and training has become an issue, management institutes like ours, in this era is focusing on the skill sets of the students, through the courses like Business Analytics in which the students are becoming intellectually and digitally fit to enter into the corporate today, in order to enter into the corporate world, the budding managers must be ready for showcasing an exorbitant performance in the all the rounds conducted by the corporate including the Personal Interview, we are proud to state that at Jaipuria Ghaziabad, we are efficiently working on the much required areas making our students employable.

In order to be extremely effective when it comes to a virtual Personal Interview let us remember the following tips and tricks:

  • Oculesics, the science of eye contact is a crucial point, it either creates or breaks your impression.
  • Always look into the camera of the device, avoid looking at the screen while talking, continuously staring at the screen gives an impression of reading out from a source.
  • Always make sure to be seated with a plain background at the back, it creates a formal ambience and is a treat to the recruiter’s eye.
  • Dressing up is a salient feature, be dressed up in formals, always wear the colors that do not mix up in the background that you have chosen for your personal interview.
  • Pastel colors are always suggested, avoid printed and checked clothes, it takes away the attention from your persona to your clothes.
  • Forestall the proliferation of gesticulation, too many gestures take away the attention of the recruiter.
  • Be prepared to show a bit of your negative side, we’re all humans and companies need to connect with you as a person, when asked about weakness, give an area of improvement rather than a weakness, being honest is the key here.
  • Do not say ‘no’ to anything, not able to do something at the present moment does not signify failure in doing the same thing later, show your interest in learning by diving deep into the subject.
  • Pick a relaxing time for your interview (not too early not too late like 10:30 AM on a Tuesday is when your HR is most relaxed according to Glassdoor research)
  • Always reciprocate by mirroring and reflecting the body language of the interviewer.
  • Lastly, always remember, the key of cracking any Personal Interview is possessing 3Cs, Confidence, Content and Communication.

The world has faced the similar times before too, we the human race is like a phoenix, we will rise above from this, till then go take down the world and ace the virtual interview like a pro till we get back to the physical interviews.
