IIC Jaipuria Institutie of Management was invited and nominated for participation at IIC Regional Meet at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on 29th August 2022. IIC poster of activities, events and achievements were displayed in the Poster gallery. The meet was attended by Director, JIM, Prof (Dr) Daviender Narang , Dean (Student Welfare) Dr Ashwani Varshney, faculty members of JIM Dr Rajkumari, Dr Devi Archana Mohanty. All the members registered for the program and attended the inauguration ceremony. The Inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries like Dr Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, AICTE, Dr Deepan Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, Ministry of Education, Dr Pradeep Mishra, Vice Chancellor, AKTU. After lighting of lamp, the dignitaries shared their insights on innovation, entrepreneurship. They threw light on various schemes of IIC such as NISP, YUKTI, ARIIA, KAPILA. In a very short span of time, the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) has become a successful model for HEIs to build, streamline, strengthen and drive campus innovation and startup ecosystems in India. Moreover, the IIC network has turned out to be instrumental in building intra and inter -institutional partnership and cooperation which has sped up the IP generation, innovation and startup outputs from academic institutions by improving I&E awareness level, trained human resource and pre-incubation/incubation facilities in HEIs. Citing India has ranked 46 in the Global Innovstion index and 3rd largest country with HEIs next to USA and China, he was very enthusiastic about the growth of Inida in the field of Innovation and startup. Dr Sahu highlighted on the importance of Amrit Kal in our country and contended that we need to be more focused towards skill based development rather that accumulating degrees. He was steer clear about the action oriented focus of the IIC and insisted that a robust networking can only make us successful. The inaugural function was also graced by Dr Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer. Dr Jere was quite focused about the objective of IIC, NISP. He expressed his concern for the risk of low quality innovative work and warned the gathering against this. He made his point clear that while recommending a project, an idea, we should be more responsible about the feasibility of the project. Professor Pradeep Kumar Mishra, Vice Chancellor, AKTU was also present in the inauguration ceremony. He encouraged the students and faculty members for creating a platform of original thinking, and collaborating environment. The meet was attended by Government and non government colleges across North region. IIC convenors, startup founders, innovators, faculty members from various institutions were gather in the meet. The meet proved to be an eye-opener for the delegates, and institutions. It facilitated a perfect hub for the knowledge sharing, collaboration and idea contribution.
