The Stage Crafter: Role Play Activity at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad

On 1st September 2025, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad organized The Stage Crafter – A Role Play Activity, a unique initiative designed to combine the art of theatre with the skills required in business leadership. The event immersed students in the world of stagecraft, giving them an opportunity to explore themes of drama, comedy, and tragedy while honing critical managerial skills.

Purpose and Objectives: The Stage Crafter activity was designed to:

  • Foster Teamwork & Leadership: By assigning specific production and performance roles, students simulated real organizational dynamics and leadership responsibilities.
  • Enhance Communication Skills: Both verbal and non-verbal expressions were sharpened, crucial for future corporate negotiations, presentations, and networking.
  • Build Project Management Skills: Organizing stage productions taught planning, resource allocation, and time management.
  • Encourage Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Students tackled live challenges in acting, stage design, and improvisation, reflecting real-world managerial adaptability.
  • Promote Appreciation of Arts & Diversity: The activity nurtured empathy and cultural sensitivity, broadening perspectives in professional and personal contexts.

Themes Explored: Six teams performed on stage, each showcasing their creativity across four engaging themes:

  • The Crown Betrayed – A royal court steeped in ambition and betrayal.
  • The Lovers’ Masquerade – A romantic comedy of errors with masks, mistaken identities, and laughter.
  • The Ghost’s Revenge – A haunting tale of betrayal and revenge set in a moonlit castle.
  • The Fool and the King – A tragicomedy exploring truth, flattery, and wisdom wrapped in riddles.
