Orientation Session on "Importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) for start-ups"

An orientation session was organized by the Institution Innovation Council and IQAC of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad on” Importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) for start-ups” on 20 April 2022 in the campus of the Institute. The speaker of the session was Mrs Pooja Kumar, Founder and Director of Innove Intellects LLP. She is also a Registered Patent Agent and Start-up facilitator of Govt. of India. She holds more than 15 years of experience in Intellectual Property Rights Field. She is not only creating IP awareness in India but also working for international countries. The session was highly interactive and informative. Mrs Kumar shared various real-life experiences while explaining the concept of intellectual property rights. She discussed various aspects of copy rights while emphasizing the importance of plagiarism. She insisted on the significance of protecting one’s innovation and filing for patent. She distinguished Patentable and Non-patentable inventions in India. She gave various examples of patents. The procedure for the application of patents and the various steps of granting of patents are described. She concluded the session by explaining about the need for the awareness of IPR among today’s young mind. The session was attended by both faculty members and students of MBA.
