Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad, through its Institution’s Innovation Council (JIM IIC), organized an insightful and interactive online session titled "Converting Innovation into a Start-up – Learning from Successful Entrepreneurs" on July 24, 2025, via Zoom. The session was led by Dr. Namita Nigam and Dr. Smita Agrawal, Associate Professors at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad.
Objective of the Session: The primary aim was to:
- Introduce MBA freshers to entrepreneurial mindsets and real-world challenges.
- Encourage key traits such as resilience, creativity, leadership, and risk-taking.
- Foster a collaborative learning environment through case-based reflections.
Session Highlights: Students were taken on an inspiring journey through the real-life stories of iconic entrepreneurs such as:
- Ritesh Agarwal (OYO Rooms)
- Dhirubhai Ambani (Reliance)
- Steve Jobs (Apple)
- Along with motivational insights from Hitesh Sharma’s journey
Each story focused on entrepreneurial qualities like vision, adaptability, customer centricity, and learning from failure.
To deepen the learning:
- Students participated in a panel discussion, reflecting on key takeaways.
- Five students shared how they plan to apply these lessons to their MBA journey and entrepreneurial aspirations.
- An ice-breaker game and motivational video concluded the session on a high-energy note.
Outcome & Impact: The session successfully:
- Encouraged early-stage entrepreneurial thinking.
- Created a platform for peer-led learning and self-reflection.
- Boosted student confidence in exploring start-up ideas and leadership roles.
