The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad organized an engaging and insightful event titled "SCAMPER Innovaothon" on April 2, 2025, at Classroom GF06, with the objective of introducing students to the SCAMPER technique—a structured framework for creative problem-solving and idea generation.
Objective: The primary goal of the session was to enable participants to think innovatively and apply creativity to real-world products by utilizing the SCAMPER method. This interactive workshop aimed to foster critical thinking, idea expansion, and collaborative learning.
What is SCAMPER?
SCAMPER stands for Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, and Reverse—a technique used to systematically explore ideas and rethink existing products or processes. The method allows individuals to challenge the status quo and develop innovative improvements.
Event Highlights: The session kicked off with an engaging introduction to the SCAMPER framework. Real-world examples from diverse industries were shared to showcase its universal application. One such idea included replacing traditional physical textbooks with digital alternatives, prompting a lively discussion around educational innovation.
Following the introduction, students were divided into small groups and encouraged to select a product or service from any industry. Using the SCAMPER model, each group explored how to redesign or enhance their chosen item, applying each aspect of the framework.
