FDP Day 4: Empowering Research with AI & Bibliometric Tools

The fourth day of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Mastering Research Techniques & Academic Writing: From Qualitative Analysis to AI-Driven Insights” was conducted on June 23, 2025, at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad. The session was led by Dr. Shalini Sahni, Founder of Koach Scholar, and focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into research methodologies—specifically for systematic literature reviews (SLR) and bibliometric analysis.

The session began with an overview of AI tools capable of enhancing every stage of the research process—from topic generation to manuscript preparation. Participants explored applications of AI in automating SLR procedures, such as keyword extraction, article screening, and summarization.

In the latter half, attention shifted to AI-powered bibliometric tools. A hands-on workshop introduced participants to Biblioshiny, the GUI version of the Bibliometrix R-package, which simplifies bibliometric mapping without requiring extensive coding knowledge. Attendees learned to create publication trend graphs, citation networks, co-occurrence maps, and thematic evolution visuals, transforming complex data into actionable insights.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Identification of AI tools for enhancing research planning and execution.
  • Application of AI in streamlining systematic literature reviews.
  • Practical understanding of bibliometric analysis for academic impact.
  • Use of Biblioshiny to generate publication metrics and collaboration maps.
  • Visualization of scholarly data for effective research communication.

This FDP session bridged the gap between traditional academic practices and future-ready research capabilities, empowering faculty with tools to produce high-impact, data-driven publications.
