On April 30, 2025, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad marked World Intellectual Property Day with an impactful Startup Idea Presentation Competition focused on patent filing and innovation. The event served as a dynamic platform for student entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity and learn the process of protecting innovations through IPR.
Objective of the Event:
- Raise awareness on the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in promoting innovation, economic growth, and sustainability.
- Encourage students to develop patentable startup ideas and provide guidance on filing patents through the YUKTI portal.
- Support a culture of IP literacy and commercialization of innovations among budding entrepreneurs.
Event Highlights: Held in the JIM Classrooms from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the offline competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 60 students. Participants presented their startup ideas across diverse sectors such as:
- Clean energy
- Healthcare
- Smart agriculture
- Fashion & food innovation
- Educational and digital technologies
Each student had 5–7 minutes to pitch their idea to a jury panel comprising JIM faculty, followed by an interactive Q&A session.

IP Awareness Workshop: An IP Awareness session was conducted by Dr. Devi Archana Mohanty and Dr. Namita Nigam, which covered:
- Step-by-step process of patent filing via the YUKTI portal
- Importance of intellectual property in startup growth and funding
Outcome: 37 Ideas Shortlisted for Patent Filing
Out of all submissions, 37 promising startup ideas were selected for patent filing. The selected students were mentored through the next steps of applying via YUKTI, the Government of India’s innovation and IP platform. Ideas ranged from organic food solutions and AI-driven education tools to sustainable logistics and health tech innovations.

- “AI-Powered LingoLoop Translator” by Rishit Agarwal
- “MediEase” by Aditya Kumar

Through this initiative, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad continues to build a culture of IP awareness, design thinking, and entrepreneurial action among its student innovators.
