CUET 2022: Right way to prepare, techniques to keep in mind

Here are some of the tips shared by experts to crack the Common University Entrance Test 2022 at the first attempt.

 

With the recent notification of the examination dates, there has been a lot of chatter about the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The common test for admission in undergraduate and graduate programs in all the central universities across India will be held in July and August.

This examination will assess the applicant’s common aptitude and specialised common subject knowledge of sciences, humanities, languages, arts, and vocational studies. The unified examination recently introduced by the Ministry of Education (MoE) is a step toward achieving a vision of “one India, one exam” and aims to fulfill the dream of every student who aspires to get admission to 45 central universities in India.

It will be administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), an entity that conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

Here are some tips to crack this examination in the first attempt.

CHECK THE SYLLABUS PROPERLY

First and foremost, download the syllabus of the CUET and understand it properly. It is a roadmap to get started with the preparation and ace the examination. Stick to the syllabus and schedule your study time accordingly.

CHECK THE COLLEGE YOU WANT TO APPLY FOR

Before starting the preparation, check the colleges and courses to which you wish to get admission. Also, understand the previous year’s cut-off scores. It is an important step that will help you evaluate how much you need to score in the CUET exam to get into the desired college.

READ NEWSPAPER DAILY

To crack the CUET examinations, read the newspaper daily. It will help you stay up-to-date with the current events and prepare for the language test paper. Reading newspapers will help you improve your vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension skills. Pay special attention to the newspaper’s editorial page.

TEST PREPARATION LEVEL

Try to solve test papers, try multiple-choice questions, work on the concepts and write topics to prepare for the final exam. It will help you increase your speed and also frame the answers to score well in the main exam. It will also help you recognise your strengths and weaknesses.

PLAN YOUR ROUTINE

Divide your syllabus into small segments and focus on one segment at a time. Planning your routine can help you cover the schedule much faster and in a better way. Also, allocate some time for revising the topics you have already studied.

Choose the subjects you find interesting and are most confident about. Studying them won’t be a slog. It is always best to work on your strengths to score more marks in the examination.
