The Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad, through its AICTE Committee, commemorated Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day (UP Diwas) on 24 January 2026 at the institute campus. The celebration was organised in accordance with the directions of the Hon’ble Governor and University guidelines, with the objective of fostering awareness, cultural pride, and responsible citizenship among students.
The primary aim of the UP Diwas celebration was to highlight the rich social, cultural, historical, and geographical heritage of Uttar Pradesh. The event encouraged students to reflect on the state’s journey, achievements, and identity while strengthening their understanding of regional and national heritage.
Student Participation and Key Activities
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across multiple academic and creative formats. Students actively engaged in the following events:
Short Documentary Presentation
Students created one minute documentary films in Hindi, English, or a combination of both languages. These documentaries effectively showcased
- The historical evolution of Uttar Pradesh
- Cultural diversity and spiritual heritage
- Tourism, religious landmarks, and economic development
The screenings reflected strong research orientation, storytelling skills, and technical creativity. Documentaries covered themes such as the story of Ayodhya, Varanasi, Maha Kumbh, spirituality, tourism, and cultural diversity of the state.
Elocution and Speech Competition
Students delivered well-researched speeches focusing on social, cultural, historical, and geographical dimensions of Uttar Pradesh. The speeches highlighted
- Uttar Pradesh’s role in India’s freedom movement
- Cultural continuity and identity
- Youth, migration, urbanisation, and responsible tourism
Both Hindi and English presentations enriched the academic and linguistic diversity of the event while demonstrating confidence, articulation, and critical thinking.
Poster, Model, and Chart Exhibition
An exhibition of posters and charts showcased
- Festivals, art forms, and cultural traditions
- Major rivers, regions, and geographical features
- Historical heroes and contemporary achievements
This activity encouraged visual learning, creativity, teamwork, and attracted significant engagement from faculty members and students.
Quiz Competition on Uttar Pradesh
A large-scale quiz competition tested students’ general knowledge related to
- Culture and heritage
- History and freedom movement
- Geography and tourism
- Spiritual, scientific, and developmental achievements
A total of 254 students participated in the quiz, promoting active learning, curiosity, and healthy academic competition.
Student Engagement and Learning Outcomes
Overall, more than 250 student participations were recorded across all activities, reflecting strong enthusiasm and pride in Uttar Pradesh’s heritage and progress. By the end of the celebration, students demonstrated

- Creative expression through visual and performing arts

The event was coordinated by Dr. Smita Agarwal, Ms. Sarika Malhotra, and Dr. Muskan Bhatnagar, with support from faculty members and active student participation. The UP Diwas celebration reaffirmed Jaipuria Ghaziabad’s commitment to holistic education that integrates academic learning with cultural awareness, civic responsibility, and inclusive student engagement.
