The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad successfully organized Startup Mela 2025, an exhibition and demo day, on 20 December 2025 at the institute campus. Conducted from morning to late evening, the event created a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem where innovation, learning, and real-world business exposure came together.
The primary objective of Startup Mela was to enhance students’ understanding of sales, marketing, and business operations by offering direct interaction with startup founders and entrepreneurs. The event aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application by allowing students to observe and participate in real business environments. A key highlight of the mela was the opportunity given to student volunteers to manage startup stalls for an entire day, enabling them to develop hands-on entrepreneurial skills.
The exhibition witnessed participation from 34 startups and companies, representing a wide range of sectors including technology, healthcare, education, fashion, food, wellness, and lifestyle. Student-led startups from Jaipuria Institute of Management also actively participated, showcasing their products and business ideas alongside external entrepreneurs. The interactive environment encouraged meaningful conversations between founders, students, and faculty members, offering valuable insights into the startup ecosystem.
Startup founders demonstrated their products and services while sharing practical experiences related to business development, customer acquisition, branding, and market positioning. Many entrepreneurs openly discussed the challenges of launching and scaling ventures, providing students with realistic perspectives on entrepreneurship beyond theoretical concepts.
One of the most impactful aspects of Startup Mela was student participation as volunteers. Students were assigned to various stalls where they assisted with sales, customer engagement, marketing promotions, and product demonstrations. This immersive experience allowed students to understand pricing strategies, negotiation techniques, customer behavior, and branding in a live business setting.
Through this exposure, students gained a deeper understanding of how startups design and implement sales and marketing strategies. They also developed essential soft skills such as communication, persuasion, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, which are critical for success in both entrepreneurial and corporate careers.
The event saw the involvement of 40 student volunteers, supported by five faculty members, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the day. Startup Mela 2025 was coordinated by student representatives Prashant, Manas, Jatin Singhal, and Anubhav Singhal, under the guidance of faculty coordinators Dr. Ashwini Varshney, Dr. Smita Agrawal, Dr. Namita Nigam, and Dr. Devi Archana Mohanti.
Startup Mela 2025 reaffirmed Jaipuria Ghaziabad’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and experiential learning. By providing students with real-world exposure and direct interaction with entrepreneurs, the institute continues to nurture future-ready leaders equipped with practical business insights and entrepreneurial confidence.
