The corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic has brought life to a standstill across the world, and one of the biggest challenges was that to keep learners engaged. The lack of face-to-face interaction of students and teachers, the difficulties of communication on digital devices, the need to self-organize can become additional challenges for the learners to absorb new information and keep track of the learning process.
The teachers’ role becomes crucial as for making sure that the learners stay engaged and do not lose their motivation. If anything, this pandemic has brought into sharp focus how privileged some students are, and how others have been left behind. It has also shown us how important teachers are ― and how they can succeed, even during a crisis, with the right technology and support system.
It is rightly said that “Teachers plant the seeds of knowledge, sprinkle them with love, and patiently nurture their growth to produce tomorrow’s dreams” and this has been proved during this pandemic.
While teachers are trying to engage students, they faced at least three serious bottlenecks:
- stress due to economic uncertainty, concern for the safety of loved ones, and anxiety about the future;
- the daunting challenge of returning to colleges where many students have dropped out or fallen behind ― and increased pressure on teachers to ensure catch-up with little professional development support; and
- access to the right technologies or the skills use by them
But our teachers made a selfless effort regarding the future of MBA aspirants. Jaupuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad came up with Jaipuria Knowledge Portal where we get E-books, ppts, lecture plans, etc. Apart from this, those students who were Covid -19 positive they provide them recordings of live daily lectures keeping in mind future of those students. For enhancing and encouraging the skills of students our teachers planned to organize various competitions through online mode like ‘E-Manthan’-Case Study Competition, Unveil Brand Identity, etc. and also organized various webinars so that students came to know about the market trends, technologies, challenges faced by the companies during this pandemic and what will be the strategies they are following and what will be the suggestions for them.
“The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don’t tell you what to see”. And I am very happy to be a part of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad because I got the best supportive teachers here.
