Report on e-Paricharcha

Jaipuria Institute of ManagementAn HR club activity based on a panel discussion named e-Paricharcha was held at Jaipuria Institute of Management on Saturday, 26th September 2020. The discussion was open to second year students with a vision to enhance their analytical and verbal skills. The judges invited for the occasion were Mr. Saurabh Siddhe alumni of the institute, currently employed with AA Almosa Enterprises, UAE as cluster HR coordinator, and Ms. Ishanka Dimri designated as Customer Service Manager in Homefirst, Noida.  The faculty coordinators were Dr. Rashmi Maini and Ms. Guneet Kaur. The event consisted of 6 teams of 4 to 5 members each who deliberated on relevant and integral issues like the advent of Artificial Intelligence and data analytics in the human resource management domain. Each team was given a time frame of 20 minutes to conduct the discussion from versatile perspectives like labor market feasibility, economic downturns, and financial scenario. The moderator of the group guided the panelists to unfold the themes of their discourse in a sequential manner. Google Meet was the chosen platform for administering the competition. The array of topics ranged from outsourcing- a boon or bane to the role of social media in talent acquisition leading to converging a pertinent theme. The students who coordinated for this event were Ms. Tanya Goyal, Ms. Mansi Bheduri, and Ms. A. Priyanka of the second year.

The activity posed students to express their views and present facts subjected to the judge’s questions and deductions. The activity led to determine valid factors and dimensions conceived through detailed discussions on specific topics. The main objective of the activity was achieved through quality discussion and validation from the judges to provide the audience with a comprehensive insight into the area of human resource management. The winners of the event were team Shweta with members Tanya Goyal and Somya Chaturvedi for their convincing arguments on the topic ‘Freshers are better than Laterals’. The second position went to team Deepanjana consisting of Shivani Gaur, Saurabh Rai, and Prashant Singh Rana with their topic ‘Outsourcing: Boon or Bane?’. And the third team was of Jhanvi, A. Priyanka, Deepika Sharma, Anshu Choudhary, and Roli Sharma for their topic ‘Role of AI in recruitment and selection’.

Overall, the event contributed to the thought process related to diverse aspects of current human resource intelligence, very significant for organizations endeavoring to tap talented employees and engage and empower them towards becoming a fruitful human capital.
