Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad celebrated Onam on 26 August 2026 with enthusiasm, cultural fervour and a strong sense of togetherness. The celebration brought faculty and non-faculty members together to experience the traditions, colours and cultural significance associated with the festival.
From a vibrant Pookalam and traditional attire to an Onam Sadhya and festive sweets, the celebration reflected the institute’s commitment to promoting cultural diversity and creating an inclusive campus community.
A Campus Filled with the Colours of Onam
The institute premises were decorated with flowers in keeping with the spirit and traditional aesthetics of Onam. An elaborate Pookalam, the traditional floral rangoli associated with the festival, became one of the highlights of the celebration.
The colourful floral arrangement added to the festive atmosphere and brought the visual charm of Onam to the campus.
Faculty and non-faculty members also participated by dressing in the traditional Onam colours of red, beige and gold. Their collective participation added authenticity to the celebration while reflecting the spirit of unity across the institute.
Traditional Onam Sadhya and Festive Celebrations
As part of the celebrations, the Cultural Team organized a traditional Onam Sadhya in honour of the Director, who was warmly wished a Happy Onam by the team.
The gesture reflected the values of gratitude, respect and togetherness associated with the festival.
Onam sweets were also distributed among faculty and non-faculty staff members, extending the festive spirit across the institute.
Understanding the Cultural Significance of Onam
