Management Education: Road to a Successful Career

Life is a battlefield but wouldn’t it be better if we had some weapons and equipment to fight. That’s what Management Education is all about. If corporate environment is thought to be a battlefield, then management education can be considered as a precious weapon needed to win that battle.

Management Education prepares students for the corporate world by disseminating knowledge and skills which are required to understand and survive the realities of their corporate journey. Role-plays, seminars, workshops, conferences and case-studies are important tools used by B-schools and Management institutions to introduce and acquaint the students to actual corporate situations and managerial dilemmas.

As an MBA postgraduate from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad, I hold first-hand experience of what Management Education is like and how it impacts one’s career in the long run. I’d be lying if I said that those debates, panel discussions and role-play competitions conducted by Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad didn’t make me more confident. It’d be an even bigger lie if I said that finding sponsors for marketing fest and selling its tickets didn’t teach me the fundamental marketing skills.

Industry exposure through guest lectures, industrial visits and case studies is what makes management education unique and effective. Management courses like MBA and PGDM are centred around the theme of creating future managers who possess all the skills that are in demand in the corporate sector.

In conclusion, cultivation and development of quintessential managerial skills including communication, decision-making, leadership and problem-solving are at the heart of management education. If one aspires for a successful career in corporate domain and not merely for a job, then, surely, management education is the best option.
