The Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram successfully hosted Mercato 2025, its annual inter-institute cultural fest, on 20 December 2025. As one of the most anticipated events on campus, Mercato brought together students, faculty members, and participants from various institutions to celebrate creativity, innovation, and youthful enthusiasm.
Among the many engaging activities conducted during Mercato 2025, the Group Dance Competition stood out as a vibrant showcase of rhythm, coordination, and artistic expression. The event provided a dynamic platform for students to demonstrate teamwork, creativity, and cultural diversity through well-choreographed group performances. Each participating team brought unique energy to the stage, captivating the audience with synchronised movements, expressive storytelling, and powerful stage presence.
The objective of the Group Dance Competition was to promote cultural engagement among students and encourage collaboration beyond academic settings. By offering students an opportunity to express themselves creatively, the event fostered confidence, discipline, and collective effort. The performances reflected rigorous practice, coordination, and passion, highlighting the dedication and artistic abilities of the participants.
A total of 14 teams took part in the competition, representing different institutions and styles. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and healthy competition, as teams supported one another and celebrated diverse forms of dance. The judges evaluated performances based on well-defined criteria including choreography, creativity, artistic expression, stage presence, theme interpretation, synchronisation, energy, and overall impact.
The judging panel comprised experienced professionals from the performing arts and academia. Ms. Gunjan Sirohi, Director of EDS Dance Studio, and Dr. Shivanjali, Assistant Professor and Owner of Kathak Academy at Amity University, brought their expertise to ensure fair and insightful evaluation of each performance.
After careful deliberation, the winners were announced. DDPS secured the First Prize with a cash award of ₹3100, followed by KDPS as the Second Prize winner receiving ₹2100, and BVUM winning the Third Prize with a cash award of ₹1100. The recognition celebrated not only technical excellence but also creativity and teamwork.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Ruby Bhatia, Ms. Abhilasha Singh, and Dr. Abhishek Kumar Srivastava, whose efforts ensured the smooth execution of the competition. The Group Dance Competition at Mercato 2025 reinforced Jaipuria Ghaziabad’s commitment to holistic education by blending cultural expression with student engagement, collaboration, and experiential learning.
