Panel Discussion on Innovation and Startup Ecosystem

Jaipuria Institute of Management Indirapuram organised a panel discussion on Innovation and Startup Ecosystem on 23 August 2022, 11 AM – 1 PM. The discussion was moderated by Dr Sheetal President IIC Jaipuria Institute of management. The panellists were in Dr Abha Rishi CEO, Atal Incubation Centre-BIMTECH Dr Raj kumar singh Professor, HOD (Commerce) , Chairperson-Centre For Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Skill Development of SMS , Varanasi And Associate Dean (Innovation & Incubation) at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow Ms Shyama Jha Founder Millet Magic Foundation. Brand WowMom Ms Kunal Jha founder of Inovatree Consultants LLP, a premium service provider in the space of IP Protection, Licensing, Contract, and Dr Esha Jain, faculty in the entrepreneurship, Chandigarh University as Associate Professor. Professor (Dr) Daviender Narang gave a warm welcome to the panellists and insisted that we should strive towards an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship. The discussion begun with the introduction to the speakers by Dr Sheetal. With a beautiful quote on entrepreneurship, she invited the speakers to share their ideas. Dr Abha Rishi, in her talk, insisted on a system snabling startup. She said funding is not a problem but the ideas have to be original and strategic. She shared the activities and ventures like Udyami initiated by BIMTECH Incubation centre. Ms Shyama Jha shared her experiences of startup journey. She talked about responsible entrepreneurship. Dr Raj Kumar Singh insisted that startup should give solutions not product. While acknowledging that India’s position has transformed from a very low position to a moderate one in the field of entrepreneurship, he lauded the effort of India in this field. Mr Kunal Jha talked about patent, patent law. His talk was crisp and highly informative. Dr Esha Jain with her brief talk, highlighted the gender diversity that exists in the field of innovation. The discussion covered various topics such as idea, incubation, startup challenges, commercialization, patent, social responsibility. Mr Kunal talked about role of students in the Start up and Innovation journey, how it will be beneficial to build up students ideas into reality. The session was quite impactful and beneficial for the students. The session was attended by more than 150 students. The session was conducted on ZOOM platform.
