Mercato 2015: The 4th Marketing Haat

“Mercato” – The Marketing Haat, as it is more popularly known, is an innovative tool for conducting market research and consumer behavior pioneered by Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. The fair is organized, supervised and conducted successfully 4th time by the Marketing Club of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad on 31st October 2015, Saturday. As compared to last year, this year the event was bigger and better.

The festivities began with a grand inauguration ceremony, where a symbolic ribbon cutting tradition was held, graced by the presence of Mr Pawan Singh, Director-Finance, PTC India Financial Services Ltd, Mr Deepak Jain, Director, TCI, Mr Vikas Chauhan, MD &Co-Founder HealthCart, Mr Anil Gaur, VP- HR, Jublient Life science, Mr SMH Siddique, GM- HR, Idea cellular. They appreciated the scale of the event that gives them a very good exposure to understand theoretical concepts of Marketing in practical scenario.

With mixed senior-junior teams, the Mercato is known for the amount of innovation shown in the type of products and the means used to market them. Both batches of students on campus have set up 53 stalls on various categories like food and beverages, fashion, eco friendly goods, Diwali products, arts & handicrafts, games, apparel etc.

Not only students of Jaipuria Institute of Management but established business houses like Allahabad Bank, Mascot Group, KW Group, Faber Castle, FBB, Ginni Fillaments, FnS, HDFC Bank, Nestle, etc have also set up their stalls and students of the Institute associated with them to sell and market their products. Diversified companies ranging from Real Estate to Banking Sector, FMCG, E-Commerce, etc. have been participating in Mercato 2015. Apart from this, students of Jaipuria MBA also organized Drawing Competition, Live Band Competition, Dance Performances, Baby Shows, Magic Show, Fashion Show, etc.

The campus was filled with the loudest cheers when it was time for the performance of Indeep Bakshi a powerful voice behind several bollywood songs which left the audience mesmerized by his soulful and hauntingly beautiful voice and stage performance.

Needless to say, with the creative innovate ideas and marketing strategies and a charged campus atmosphere, the Mercato is one of the liveliest and most engaging events on campus.
