When I joined MBA at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad in 2014 a lot of efforts took to make matter 'in motion' - classes, case­ studies, group-discussions, personal interviews, placement preparation session, events etc. Eventually I got my beginning in the form of wonderful set up of an Online E-store “Deldure.com” that was an example of entrepreneurial support of the Institute.

The efforts clearly weren't mine alone, but majorly that of the faculties in providing a potent direction and opportunities. However, I also cannot deny the involvement of each entity associated with JIM Ghaziabad- my batch-mates, my seniors, my juniors, the staff in contributing to the very environment, the favorable conditions in nurturing me out into achieving something substantial. The guidance and the corporate exposure- which started from the very first day of the Induction Programme - was key in aligning all the competencies, duly polished during the course of several academic and cultural events.

Being a part of the Institute's various events which provided a platform in not just honing my presentation skills but also in better adapting to a professional sense of being. The Summer Internship Programme ensured that while having hands-on experience, corporate learning experiences also provided to the students, leading to an easier transition into the impending company culture.

In conclusion, success doesn't seem like one destination as of now, but a long way ahead. JIM Ghaziabad had influenced me as an inspiration which allowed me to overcome an impossible for myself. The way it had always been, there are going to further instances of 'impossible' in the future but, the 'inspiration' shall continue in my efforts to 're-define' myself in crossing them to newer and higher achievements.

The play performed by the students of JSB highlighted the welcome change that is coming in the society. Though the harassment is still there, but many people in the society today are getting to understand the fact that women are, in no way, inferior to men and they must be respected. The troop cited various examples of women who have brought honour to the nation through their hard work.

The program concluded with the actors introducing themselves and with a vote of thanks. The foyer buzzed with action for a long time as members from the audience joined the discussions with the performers.

The second day facilitated the students with a complete view of placement with the guidance of our worthy CRC Team headed by Prof I.B Singh who gave dispensed the students with the placement talk motivating them to work hard followed by the talk of other members of the team including Dr. Vijaylaxmi Tripathy and Ms Sanandi Sachdeva. The day also saw the presence of distinguished alumni from KPMG, Jubliant Generics and Micromax. Our prominent alumni talked about their initial hiccups, experiences and their success stories. Students enjoyed the role play competition that took place after lunch on various social issues coming up these days. The best performances in the role play were bestowed with a cash prizes.

The third day saw the gracious presence of our esteemed chairman Mr. Shishir Jaipuria who enlightened and motivated the students to excel in the corporate world also discussing the recent economic scenarios of the country and the world. The day proceeded with MBTI and Team Building exercises held by Dr. Neha Verma, Dr. Vijaylaxmi Tripathy and Ms Sanandi Sachdeva. The session helped in understanding the personality type and team leading capacity of students. The day ended with the grand live band performances which acted like a whiff of fresh air and entertained the students to the core.

MBA students, faculty and staff using brooms cleared out garbage from roads, drains, and other community areas in the vicinity. About 200 students participated in the program. The accumulated garbage was disposed by municipal garbage vans. The initiative was taken by Director of Jaipura Institute of Management Prof (Dr.) Daviender Narang and coordinated along with Dr. Ashwani Varshney, Dr. Ajay Tripathi along with other faculty members.

The main point of discussion for this module was to look at our day to day Life and think of some Selfless acts that one could perform and add beauty to and everyone’s life.

This session was followed by the module second about the “Personality Development” conducted on 3rd November, 2017, here the students were guided about importance of maintaining personality as whole, that would work as catalyst to enhance their careers and overcoming challenges of life.

The students were very interactive during the session to overcome their doubts about the right conduct in interview and GD to grab opportunity for job. During session the focus was also lead on how to improve the individuals’ communication and confidence.

The major topics of discussion were passing of land acquisition bill, attention to Indian Army, reduction of interest on education loan, transformation of planning commission to niyati ayog, removal of mediators from Jan Dhan Yojna etc.

IYM's manufacturing facilities comprise of 2 State-of-the-art Plants at Faridabad (Haryana) and Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh). The infrastructure at both the plants supports production of motorcycles and parts for the domestic as well as overseas markets. The Surajpur plant was established in 1984. The state–of-the-art Assembly plant at Surajpur was inaugurated on 6th July’09 and is spread over an area of 36,000 sq. mts. It has the capacity to produce 1 million motorcycles and scooters annually.

Student got to see the Various assembly lines of various models manufactured in the Surajpur plant . models like Fazer and Ray are very popular among youth. It was inspiring to see the Young girls passing out from 10th and 12thClass had been recruited by Yamaha and sponsoring their education fees . Yamaha is now coming with the new plant in Chennai . It was indeed pleasure for all of us to interact with Staff of India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd.

As part of its Corporate Social responsibility, Jaipuria Institute of Management,Vasundhara Ghazibad has organized its annual free medical camp at its campus on 5th April 15 in association with Satya Sai Sewa Sanghathan. Over 150 members from the community benefited from this camp. The medical camp included free diagnosis and consultation as well as dispensing medicines free of charge to the patients. The event was formally organized by the Prof. (Dr) Daviender Narang, director Jaipuria Insitute of Mangement Vasundhra Ghaziabad. To ensure smooth operation, the Jaipuria Institute of Management Vasundhara provided full infrastructural as well financial support to the visiting doctors. Later on the students and faculty members visited an orphanage and donated clothes, food and stationary to its residents. Local people appreciated the efforts very much. The event was organized by Prof. (Dr) Daviender Narang, Dr. Ashwani Varshney, Mr. Neeraj Dangi and Ms. Bhawna Malik. Besides local community members, college staff and students too were able to avail this benefit.

The conference was inaugurated with the welcome speech of Mr Shishir Jaipuria, Chairman, Jaipuria Group of management Institutions. He emphasized the need to discuss the economic perspectives that are emerging in the current globalised world and its associated impact. This was followed by the inaugural address by Prof (Dr) Daviender Narang, Director, Jaipuria Insitute of Management Vasundhara who highlighted how global economic recovery is vital as it is affecting the confidence of corporate across the world. He also stressed on the need for economic and financial reconstruction. The guest of honour was Prof B. B. Bhattacharya, Ex-Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. The Keynote Address was given the chief guest, Mr Subir Gokarn, Former Deputy Governor, RBI. He specified that in order to workout strategies to deal with the challenges of present and future, such kind of conferences and that to at international level will be really helpful.

A souvenir and the conference proceedings were released in book, titled “Emerging Global Economic Perspectives” which was released by the chief guest of the event Mr Subir Gokarn along with Prof B. B. Bhattacharya, Sri Shishir Jaipuria, Prof. Daviender Narang and Mr. Vinod Malhotra.

All dignitaries released the souvenir and the conference book. Later as part of annual practice, top students of 2012-2014 MBA students were facilitated in a Jaipuria Academic Excellence Award ceremony. The first prize of Rs. One lakh was given to Mr. Uttkarsh Rastogi. Ms, Poonam Chauhan and Mr. Vikram Kumar Gupta received Rs. 50,000/- and 31,000/- cash awards respectively for securing second and third position. The vote of thanks was delivered was Mr. Vinod Malhotra, Director, Corporate Relations, Jaipuria Group of Management Institutions.

The International conference had three technical sessions. The first technical session on “Emerging Global Issues and Challenges and its Impact on Inclusive Growth” highlighted the Indian foreign trade in specific sectors, link of behavioural science and economics, issues pertaining to rural growth and marketing. In addition, other eminent speakers presented their papers on various critical issues regarding risk management, growth prospects of in emerging markets, strategic linkages between HRM and organizational performance, relation of pricing and consumer perception in telecom industry and sustainability factors in Indian economy. Besides these, there were quite a few research papers on banking industry with relation to accounting standards, strategies to deal with ever increasing levels of non-performing assests in commercial banks and prospects for Indian economy for the prime minister‟s „Make in India‟ campaign.

The second technical session post lunch on “Emerging trends in Global economy: Mapping the way ahead” highlighted issues in digital world in India. There were papers on burgeoning areas like pricing practices on E-commerce, corporate and social media, cashless transaction and others. Besides these, some of the other themes covered were social entrepreneurs, women‟s empowerment, HR practices in non-profit organizations and challenges in Indian Higher education.

Later on Dr Daviender Narang, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management epitomized the proceedings of the conference and highlighted the significant recommendations given by participants and eminent personalities from academia and industry. The valedictory speech was given by Prof. (Dr.) Daviender Narang, director, Jaipuria Institute of Management He specified that this international conference has bought together the pool of talent and the technical sessions have stimulated the thought process in relation to the Emerging Global Economic Perspectives. He also said that these brainstorming sessions will definitely give way to the future research and development in the related issues and to come out with distinctive and concrete measures for a sustained and inclusive growth.

The International Conference was successfully concluded by felicitation of participants with the certificates and the best paper award to the best research paper presenter.

The event was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Daviender Narang, Dr. Ashwini Varshney, Dr. Anil Gupta, Dr. Ajay Tripathi, Dr. Rajni Singh, Dr. Mamata Kumari and Mr. Neeraj Dangi with active participation of other faculty members, staff and MBA students alike.

Corporate Resource Centre and Faculty members along with students left for visit at 10 a.m. and took about two hours to cover the distance. The company is located in Sonepat, Haryana.

As soon as we reached company we were guided by company representatives for orientation of company which was given by heads of production department about history and how company was established. It was great to know that company follows world class qualityand safety standards.

Company follows the following principles-

As a global company, Yakult is active in more than 33 countries with affiliated companies, associated with thousands of customers and suppliers.

After introduction all students were headed by one manager of company who helped them to understand how production is carried out in company and how company reaches their customer.

Maximum production in company is carried out by means of machinery subdivide in various activities like inception of raw material, mixing process, making bottles, covering the product and then converting it into finished goods. Finally Finished goods are packed and are sealed where production batch no is embossed for its future verification required. Company defective ratio is less than 1 percent which shows the how effective company works.

The students took almost an hour to see complete set of production which was followed by questions of students. Staff members were very cooperative who guided students with each and every question with detailed answers.

It is rightly said that “See & know’ is better than ‘read & learn’. Students have got real feel of company’s working after this visit. They got a chance to transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implication. This will even help students to understand subject matter clearly in future also.

At around 11:00 AM the second session started. Lt. Vineet Kumar has given a wonderful presentation on Digital Information Security where he briefed about the present Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s Digital India Project, how it would be and what security issues would pop up. He mentioned some special terms like bots, honey pot, traps, etc. where bots are related to robots, a system which can learn on its own. Honey pots are the fake sites created by hackers where a single click can reveal one’s user id, passwords, etc. to hackers. He also talked about the cyber security issues that he encountered and how he tackled those issues. He shared many case studies of cyber theft, email spoofing, etc. both in India and abroad, explained them properly and given us a suitable measure to tackle those issues.

He also gave presentation on risk assessment and information security where he talked about how much our personal data or information is secured in our laptop or mobiles or any other devices we have, how they can be stolen by fraudsters and what they do with them. He said that no device can be 100% secured, vulnerability is always there, we can only make things difficult to steal them.

After that Dr. Ajeet Poonia gave presentations on cloud computing. He told us the importance and utilities of cloud computing. He told that not only text data, images, videos, can be shared but also various software and hardware can be shared when needed. It is the cheaper source of hardware and software and can be very beneficial for an organization, as it need not to buy the software or hardware but can use them when needed.

After that Mr. Tarun, CEO, Innefu Labs gave presentation on Open Source Tools and Technologies where he said that most of the hackers collect information about their targets from their social networking sites, they follow their movements in the social networking sites and make their plans accordingly. Even to hack the sites of the big organizations, they first target the employees of those organizations and with the help of its employees account, they try to breach into their system. He also shared many interesting case studies.

Finally, the technical sessions ended with a presentation on Internet of things by Lt. Vineet Kumar where he said that with the introduction of the concept of smart cities or smart homes, etc. every things inside the home such as lights, fans, television, air conditioner, windows, cars, etc. will be controlled through internet from outside the home. Therefore, anybody who can breach the security system can have access to it. The security system of future will be something like biometric scan of fingerprints, retina scan, voice recording, etc.

The workshops concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sangeeta Kaul and distribution of certificates by Dr. H. K Kaul and Lt. Vineet Kumar.

AAGHAAZ also saw a very active participation from the First Year students of MBA who competed with full zeal and great enthusiasm to be crowned the Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2015. And after three rounds of exemplary performances comprising of Ramp Walk, Individual Talent Round, and Question & Answer Round, the following 1st Year students became the freshest faces of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad (Formerly Located at Vasundhara, Ghaziabad), selected by an eminent jury and awarded the titles as indicated below:-

AAGHAAZ reflected the rich tradition and culture of Jaipuria Institute of Management and exhorted the First Year students to imbibe this legacy and reflect it in achievements of excellence in all the spheres of life. The Freshers Party concluded with the blessings of Prof. (Dr) Daviender Narang, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management.

AAGHAAZ was followed by an equally rocking D.J. Night and Dinner, served with delectable food.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam no more with us. May his soul rest in peace. He was a true leader and a great contributor to the world of science, and to the technology in India. He was president of India and hence naturally part of the politics of India – yet away from it all. In true sense, he was one of the few men in the country liked by all. We can learn from Dr. Kalam that how can someone become truly iconic to be called “people’s president” that literally everyone across cast and creed, across age group, across states or cultures – everyone loved him.

The debate was undertaken on the social topics like Reservation for women, Is media degrading the society, Impact of social networking sites, women empowerment and increasing number of divorce rates as a consequence, today’s youth and their connection with their parents.

MBA students endowed the stage with their views and perspectives. Great amount of reciprocation from the audiences made the debate even more productive. The event was coordinated by assistant professor Ms Sanandi Sachdeva.

The festivities began with a grand inauguration ceremony, where a symbolic ribbon cutting tradition was held, graced by the presence of Mr Pawan Singh, Director-Finance, PTC India Financial Services Ltd, Mr Deepak Jain, Director, TCI, Mr Vikas Chauhan, MD &Co-Founder HealthCart, Mr Anil Gaur, VP- HR, Jublient Life science, Mr SMH Siddique, GM- HR, Idea cellular. They appreciated the scale of the event that gives them a very good exposure to understand theoretical concepts of Marketing in practical scenario.

With mixed senior-junior teams, the Mercato is known for the amount of innovation shown in the type of products and the means used to market them. Both batches of students on campus have set up 53 stalls on various categories like food and beverages, fashion, eco friendly goods, Diwali products, arts & handicrafts, games, apparel etc.

Not only students of Jaipuria Institute of Management but established business houses like Allahabad Bank, Mascot Group, KW Group, Faber Castle, FBB, Ginni Fillaments, FnS, HDFC Bank, Nestle, etc have also set up their stalls and students of the Institute associated with them to sell and market their products. Diversified companies ranging from Real Estate to Banking Sector, FMCG, E-Commerce, etc. have been participating in Mercato 2015. Apart from this, students of Jaipuria MBA also organized Drawing Competition, Live Band Competition, Dance Performances, Baby Shows, Magic Show, Fashion Show, etc.

The campus was filled with the loudest cheers when it was time for the performance of Indeep Bakshi a powerful voice behind several bollywood songs which left the audience mesmerized by his soulful and hauntingly beautiful voice and stage performance.

Needless to say, with the creative innovate ideas and marketing strategies and a charged campus atmosphere, the Mercato is one of the liveliest and most engaging events on campus.

The event was attended by over 200 participants comprising corporate, businessmen, academicians and management students. The summit discussion hovered on the science of acquiring requisite skills required for an individual and corporate alike today.

Shri Shishir Jaipuria (Chairman of Jaipuria Group of Management Institutions) highlighted that Industrial manufacturing companies are having difficulty filling jobs, even with relatively high unemployment rates in many countries. The problem is getting the right people for the available jobs. With ‘Make in India’, the manufacturing sector once again growing and profitable, but the industry is not drawing the talent it needs to support growth.

Prof (Dr.) Daviender Narang, Director of Jaipuria Institute of Management stressed that the success mantra for managing talent is to adapt, upgrade, modify and change as per requirements. Inspired thinking and creative thinking is more important than ever before.

Guest of honour Mr. Annurag Batra,Chairman & Editor in Chief ,BW Businessworld focused on the increasing competition for talent in the manufacturing sector. He focused on the need of reckoning, selecting and grooming talent employees in Manufacturing (Make in India), Ecommerce & Supply chain and BFSI.

Key Note Speaker Mr. Aditya Ghosh ,President & Whole Time Director, Inter Globe Aviation Limited focused that success of any organization is based upon the talent management in today’s competitive marketplace. Talent is no longer an issue that is only confined to the HR department but also is rising to the top of the agenda for senior executives across the different verticals of industry. This reflects the importance of talent for competitive advantage in today’s global knowledge economy.

Mr. Partho P Kar, Managing Director, Brookes Enterprises exhorted that the business environment is constantly evolving and there is a proliferation of knowledge.

Next stage of the summit was the panel discussion of various sectors with Manufacturing (Make in India) being the first one. Most participants of this panel called a career in Manufacturing as glorious and dynamic and need requisite skills for the same. Shitanshu Prasad, Executive Director, SAIL stressed the need of identifying, developing and retaining global talent for acquiring the competitive advantage in organizational performance and development in manufacturing sector. Prashant Bhatmule, VP – SCM, HSIL focused on How to expand Talent search for closing the talent gap between “Right Man for the Right Job”. Other panelist for the session include Dhiraj Saraswat, Head –HR, Lloyd Electric & Engineering Ltd & Bhupendra Kaushal, VP- Corporate HR, Ginni Filaments Ltd.

The second panel session on BFSI sector whereby Mr Mohit Sharma, Chief Manager & HR Business Partner, IndusInd Bank focused on systematic approach to attract and manage talent that can unleash tremendous innovation and growth in BFSI. Other panelist include Mr. Vikas Choubey, VP- Human Resources and Regional Head- North, AXIS Bank and Sharad Hamirwasia, Group Manager, EvalueServe.

The third panel session post lunch focused on E-commerce and Supply Chain industry. Ms.Binni Rai, Head -Talent Management & Founding Member, Jabong.com emphasized that E-commerce sales in India are set to rise by 18 % by the end of 2016 and these increased volumes are putting unprecedented demands on the supply chains of e-commerce and omni-channel retailers. Mr. Neerav Jain, Founder & CEO, Cityfurnish.com focused on the rapidly changing delivery expectations of e-commerce customers, driven by trends towards click & collect and next day delivery, mean that operating an effective e-commerce supply chain and fulfillment operation presents a whole new set of challenges.

Prof. (Dr) Daviender Narang formally closed the session by delivering the valedictory speech and hoped that all participants would have benefited from this event. The event was coordinated by Director of Jaipura Institute of Management Prof (Dr.) Daviender Narang, Dr. Ashwani Varshney, Dr. Anil Gupta, Ms. Bhavna Malik, Dr.Neelu Tiwari and Ms. Sunita Chowdhary.

The workshop on Art of Living ended with an interactive Question and Answer session from faculty members and students of the Institute.

MBA students and faculty members learn about what the orphanage do, they also got to spend time with the children. From the moment the faculty and students of JIM entered the children’s playroom, the kids immediately bonded to them like glue. Each one of the student and faculty & staff member had a child they had bonded with. Bonding with these kids reinforced the value of humanity for students beyond the point of only learning about its value through taking classes on the subject. Faculty & staff members and MBA students donated clothes and foods during their visit.

This experience really struck a chord inside students and made them realize that they should care the society in the future.

The Annual session of 2016, provided me a platform to get an exposure of skilling India. The mission of skilling India is focusing to skill 400 million people by 2025. If China is known as World's manufacturing factory, India can be World's human resource Capital.

Therefore, the session focused on making nation's workforce, skilled force that enables to contribute towards the development of country.

Therefore, Annual Session of 2016 provided me an overall outlook of Indian Economy.

The main objective of the industrial visit was to provide exposure to students about the printing process of national news paper- Hindustan Times. Moreover, the students were also understood other managerial aspects of news paper industry like Logistics and supply Chain Management, marketing and distribution network, etc. Dr. I.B.Singh and Mr. Brijesh Ramtani from Corporate Resource Center (CRC) accompanied the students. On arrival of the students in the plant, they were served with tea and snacks. They were asked by Mr. Pradeep of HR Department of Hindustan Times to make three groups for visiting the plant. He also explained the history of the plant. The printing process was also explained in brief. It was informed that the plant was inaugurated by Mr. P Chidambaram (Former Finance Minister), then Central Finance Minister in 2005. The plant is located in a plot area of approx. 9,000 square meters.

The students were taken for the printing facility visit in three groups separately. The three sections of the printing facility were shown in operating condition. These included preprinting facility, printing facility and post printing facility. Preprinting facility covers storage, drying and cutting of paper rolls to size of news paper for printing are carried out in this section. The paper rolls of high quality are imported from Korea and China. 120 No, of paper rolls are used per day. Printing facility covers total material of news paper to be printed is received in PDF file from Delhi Office of Hindustan Times. After receipt of file the matter is uploaded in printing machines in which templates for each page is made. The templates are used for actual printing. During the printing experts take out samples of news papers and adjust in control console to adjust colors and correct other deficiencies. The machines for printing were imported from Germany and Japan. However, the post printing facilities includes the post printing section includes folding, counting and making bundles of news papers in transportable sizes. Most of the process were automatic and do not require operators except for checking, testing and making adjustments. Major raw materials for the plant are paper rolls and ink for printing. The plant does not deal with marketing but dispatch department dispatches news paper bundles according to details received from their Delhi Office.

While going through the entire industrial visit, the plant is found to be very well organized developed & most ideal industry in every walk of its production, administration & management aspects.
